Suffocated ?

Depressed because you got no friends left.?

College life, In India, every student definitely goes through either one of the following situations - Either he or she is having friends in the whole class or he or she isn’t having a single real friend in the whole class. And what if he or she isn’t having an interest in the stream which he or she has opted for.. literally that person is surrounded by all bad lucks he or she can ever experience in their life. It feels like you are being Suffocated from every single side and additionally when parents can't help you out. Remember one thing and put it strictly in your brain, just never ever go against yourself and against what you always wanted to do so or be ready to bear the consequences. 

One special message for all the introverts out there - The world is cruel, so as the people too. Don't stay behind forever. You also need friends sometimes. Make real friends but at least make some, because if you won't do it few years after you will feel a bit suffocated. That suffocation won't be due to lack of OXYGEN, that suffocation will be because everything is getting buried inside you. You aren't sharing anything with your parents neither you are having a single real friend out who can really help you. You can't always find the solution to every problem by yourself. 

Also, suicide is never an option to quit things. Suicide is like for people who get scared to face the difficulties in their life. And sometimes, you will find that you are scared and will feel like to end everything up because you are not able to tolerate anything. 
But believe me, it's just a matter of some time. Just wait and watch, you will yourself see your life will be changing. 

And now one special message for everyone, hey, it's my humble request to all of you, be kind to everyone always. Everyone includes your parents, friends, family relatives, strangers, etc. because you never know on whom, how strongly your words can make an impact on the life of another person. If you ever got hurt by any of your friends, or from anyone and you want a SORRY to satisfy your ego, here take a apology from me. Here it is - hey whatever happened between you and ___ person forget it. It was a mistake. Accept my sincere apology from his/her side.
Mental illness is an important thing these days. Don't ever leave a person behind who is in need of help.

Is it really easy to find HAPPINESS..?

In this world of competition, is it really easy to find happiness even if one is doing the thing which he/she always wanted to.? Maybe yes or maybe not. 
Today, even if a person is doing what he/she always wanted, somehow that person is also not happy. Competition in every field keeps increasing. 
It's solution -  HUSTLE HARD, OR KEEP GOING THROUGH THE FLOW, OR QUIT.!

Always remember one thing, EXPERIENCES and FAILURES are worth to gain. Just accept them wholeheartedly, if they ever come in your way. The lessons that experience and failure can teach you, SUCCESS can never teach you those things. Sometimes, crying also helps in moving ahead in life. In hidni, it can be said as - "

Past was bad, so as you can work on your present, to make your future better.

Even the world's richest person might be also worried that he will be overthrown by the world's second-richest person. So, quitting is never a solution. 

How bad your past might be, how much bad works you might have done, just FOCUS on your present so that your FUTURE can become better than your past and present. 

A person who is in a relationship is not happy, and even a person who is single is also not happy. 
World's richest person is also not happy, and the poor person of any country is also not happy.
Somehow, a doctor is also not happy with his/her hectic schedule and at the same place, a businessman is also not happy.

Happiness is created from small and small things. Keep joining the ends of sad things, to create happiness from them. Always have patience. Don't keep on thinking when your good time will come.  

Stay happy, keep hustling, never quit. 

Success also comes to those, who keep on trying, and I i.e. me, Sanyam Arora have experienced this thing very closely in my life.

Career subjects VS. depression

 So, career subjects vs. depression. My favourite topic. 

NOTE - This whole blog will be based on the life of students of India.
A class 10th student sometimes takes that kind of subjects which makes him/her feel regret throughout his/her upcoming 2 years, and maybe throughout life.  Some students are pressurised to take specific subjects like Medical/Non-Medical. Some students who don't get pressurised, still take subjects of parents choice because they are obedient ones, who very well understand the thinking of their parents. But believe me, those who don't get pressurised but still takes difficult subjects/subjects which their parents always wanted their child to take, are the ones who suffer the most throughout their lives. 

According to Indian parents, in India, there are only 2 subjects which can make a person successful, that are Medical and Non-Medical i.e. Either Doctor or Engineer. Some parents who have complete knowledge of other subjects know very well that with which subjects their child should go for will never let their child take medical and non-medical.

Mine only advise to everyone, if you are reading it as a student - do that thing, which you always wanted to do. Because once you get in a particular stream, it will be the toughest thing for you to leave it. Neither you will be able to study it nor you will be able to leave it and then there will be only one thing around you - Depression. Talk with your parents what you want to do. 

I might be very small to say the upcoming words, but if you are reading it as a parent, I know that it will be very difficult for you to say yes to your child to let him/her choose his/her favourite subjects. But tell me one thing, if you will pressurise your child now and if he/she becomes what you want in future, will he/she be happy to do that specific work..? 

Today in India in 2021, the biggest competition is in Medical subject. Almost 17 million students give one exam (NEET-UG) at the same time and same date, and that exam which takes place only once a year. Each year 1 million students keep on increasing for this exam. 
There are only 41.3k government seats, 35.5k private college seats (which includes a fee of 15 million/1.5 crores.)
Medical study is of almost 10 years (class11 and class 12 + MBBS (5 years) + 1-year internship + MD (3 years.) Ask your child once, will he/she be able to do it..? I am not saying there is no FUN during the whole journey. But there is a study also, which is tough. 
Just compare 18 million students with 77k seats. Where's the opportunity..? 

Always take that path where there are fewer people, where there is some darkness. But obviously, if you always wanted to take that path, you will succeed easily as you most probably be knowing the amount of hard work to be done in that field, as you might be knowing what you will be studying throughout the field.

Talking about FAILURES. Värnik claims India's adjusted annual suicide rate is 10.5 per 100,000, while the suicide rate for the world as a whole is 11.6 per 100,000. In India, most of the suicides are committed by students. Most of the students are from the medical and non-medical stream. Some commit suicides as they don't get the expected marks. 
One of my senior friend committed suicide by jumping into a river because he scored nearby 98 percentile in JEE main exam, and he expected 99 percentile.

Difference between Sadness and Depression..?

 Getting depression and sadness mixed up is one of the worst things you can do while talking about the former. Understanding the difference between the two is absolutely crucial or they can be very harmful to a person. 

We often hear the term “depression” thrown around lightly in conversation. After a busy day, when we sit with our family together for dinner, some often discuss with their families that they are depressed, and some shy ones hide it from their families. 

The inability to differentiate between sadness and depression can lead us to neglect a severe psychological condition (depression) and overreact to a normal emotional state (sadness). If we overuse the term depression when we are describing our emotional state of sadness, we are simplifying a major mental health disorder.
Depression is a serious mental health disorder that has vast implications on our personal lives, professional lives, and society as a whole.

As of 2017, 300 million people around the world have depression and nearby 70-80% of them are students.

Sadness is a symptom of depression, and because we associate these together, we often struggle to differentiate between these two common psychological states. 

Let's understand SADNESS.
Sadness is a normal emotion that is triggered by a specific adverse event or bad experience. In other words, we become sad about something specific. This emotional state dissipates after some time or after something good, replaces the hurtful event that triggered the initial sadness. 
Sadness is temporary. We may feel sad for a moment, an hour, or even a couple of days. Every individual will experience sadness, many a time, in his/her lifetime. You may become sad because you ended a romantic relationship, or you did not do well on an exam, or you spent the night fighting with a friend. We can often find some relief from our sadness by crying, venting, or talking about our situation. 

Let's understand DEPRESSION.
Depression is a mental health disorder (according to Google)
According to me, it's an acquired feeling by the brain due to some bad experiences/bad decisions taken by a person himself/herself. 
Depression affects our mental and emotional state, which further affects how we think and feel about everything. Depression leaks into every aspect of our life, and when we are depressed, we feel numb or sad about everything. Everything in our life is less enjoyable, less interesting, and less important. The things we once loved and were passionate about no longer bring us meaning or purpose. We lose interest in almost every things. 

Depression is most likely depression. Can't say the same. But many experts say that there is "no specific reason" behind every depression. Might be true. But according to me, 99.5% depression cases around the world are depressed because they are experiencing a bad time which they never expected in their lives (whether it is regarding their job, relationship, marriage life, study, exams, loss of someone special, etc.)

They may be barely able to get out of bed in the morning. They may be struggling with their relationships. They may be lonely. They may be crying at each moment from inside but just smiling from outside. They may no longer find satisfaction or purpose in their job. Depression makes us less patient and quick to anger. Depression forces us to overthink on a specific topic. And that overthinking is always done in a negative way, because your brain is controlled by depression, and not in the way you want.

Treating SADNESS versus Treating DEPRESSION. 
Sadness can be overcome within time. You can express your emotions, “cry it out”, go out with friends, or spend time outdoors. Expressing sadness over the loss of a loved one may take some time, but you can still find happiness in other aspects of your life. Engage yourself more with these happy aspects. 

Now, if we talk about the treatment of depression. Depression is also having its types. Bipolar depression is one of them. Many types of serious depressions need proper treatment which includes proper Therapy sessions, counselling, medicines, etc. But if you just got equipped with depression, I don't think you need any kind of treatment. All you need is one TRUE close friend/family member/expert who can listen to you and can help you by just guiding you. 

NOTE - If you are having suicidal thoughts, that's considered serious depression, and you should consult a psychiatrist ASAP.

Suicidal thoughts. (Worst part of life.)

So, everyone might have experienced one worst phase throughout their lives. 
Suicidal thoughts are one of the worst experience if someone has experienced it. Sometimes, a person goes to a religious place to just ask a long age of his/her parents/closed ones from his/her age account.
In Punjab, we ask God that "ਮੇਰੀ ਬਚੀ ਹੋਇ ਉਮਰ ਓਨੁ ਲਗ ਜਾਵੇ" which simply means, Hey god please take my leftover life and add it to ___ (specific person's life).

Sometimes, life throws a person at such a point, where one can neither get out of that condition nor can tell anyone that what he/she is feeling. 

(Just one request - Never ever get angry/shout/fight with an anonymous person. You never know what the other person is going through it. Because of your some bad words/one fight with that person, you might have to read his/her news the next day in the newspaper.)
(Never ever leave a crying person. Whether he/she is anonymous to you, never leave him/her, if you have clearly observed that someone is crying/sad nearby you.)

And if any depressed guy/girl reading this blog, I am just here to help you. Look, everything gonna be fine soon. Not even a single problem stays for a much longer time. Just you need to stay strong during this hard time. Just avoid over-thinking, avoid listening to sad songs. Just try spending some more time with family. Try spending more time with your best friend. Try telling him what you are going through..! He/she will definitely help you in any way.

Curing depression easy or difficult..?

So today I will be discussing is it really easy to cure depression.? Look, as mentioned earlier According to google - it's an illness or a kind of disease. But one who has gone through it and cured from it knows, that it's just sad thinking that brain has opted/acquired. That thinking can be very much harmful to the body as it can EVEN completely erase your body (weakening immune system, continuously crying, fatigue, weight loss.)

The solution to any kind of depression - Try sharing it with your closed ones. Just share with them whom you trust. That whom can either be your mother or father or any family member or any of your closed friend. If you will keep storing everything inside, one day those secrets will nearby kill you.
Lets's talk about almost every kind of depression in detail -

Depression because of failure in exams.
Solution -  Sadness will stay for some time and it should stay for some time, so you can understand where you went wrong. There will be always one question in your mind. "Why me..?" I also experienced this question once in my life, but soon I got the answer. Only me because, God was having something better for me, or can be said that God wanted me to grind harder to get that thing which I was supposed to get after passing the exam. 

Depression because of a breakup from a relationship.
Solution - Hey dear brother/sister, I know you loved truly. Your feelings were genuine. But, if you both broke up it simply means that your partner wasn't able to understand you and your feelings towards him/her. You also might be thinking of one question too, that where you went wrong or why God didn't help us.? Look, make a knot of the upcoming line in your heart and brain, which I am gonna write now - ANYTHING WHICH IS HURTING YOU NOW, THAT WAS A KIND OF SIGNAL FROM GOD. That signal somehow says - some things weren't made for you OR you deserved much better OR might be that guy/girl would have cheated on you. 

(For one who doesn't believe in god - It's completely fine if you are an atheist. So, you will also not believe what I wrote regarding God. So here's one reason that particular thing (failure or breakup) happened with you because you lacked something or you committed mistake somewhere. Might be any other reason, but according to me what I felt, I wrote it.)

Depression because of study pressure.
Solution - Look, basically it's having rarely any solution. I can just say try doing it that much, that you can pass the exam of that particular subject. Without study, there's rarely anything a person can do. I know there are many occupations which do not require any study qualification, but those require 100% luck and 101% hard work (Example - cricket, other sports, an acting career in Bollywood or any other industry.)

Depression because of loneliness. 
Solution - If you are having a smartphone or even better a pc or laptop, then I don't think you should say yourself as lonely and depressed. Make new friends man. Get exposure. Try doing the things (example - poetry, sketching, etc.) you always wanted to do or which you dreamt once. Visit discord. Join online servers which are joined by more than 30k people. Best solution - make new friends. But don't get scammed.

Depression because of career-making. 
In this whole world, out of 100% student population, I think almost 90-95% always get depressed throughout their career-making. And I don't think it is having any solution. Only studying smartly and hard work is the way to remove this depression. Suicidal thoughts is one of the most common symptoms experienced in this depression. Think and research 100 times before choosing your career subjects. Don't try experimenting with subjects. Tougher subjects can even take your life (because you yourself doesn't know how week you are from inside..!!!) or can make your life (if studied properly.)  Best solution ever - keep working hard until you can... 

Depression because of bullying, body shame, etc..!
Solution - Might be one of the most common things for first-year college students and for many other school students too who are healthy. Look, if someone is body shaming you, I don't know why you are getting hurt..? Are you this much week that someone else has the power to hurt you through his/her words..? I don't know those who are bullying you or body shaming you are your friends or what... but if they are your friends, just listen from one ear, and throw out it from another ear. It's your life. Don't give anyone even a single right that they can hurt you. Whenever someone is teasing you, just give them a fuckin big smile, like you aren't getting affected by their words. 

In the end, I will conclude my topic by writing, many people say there is no reason behind their depression. AGREED. Just try telling the person who came to ask you how are you.. just try telling him/her what is going in your mind.! He/she (if experienced) will automatically come to know what you are going through. 
Just don't hide. Open up your overthinking thoughts with someone whom you trust. This is the only way to come out of depression. Now you might be thinking, how by only sharing my thoughts, will remove my depression. Don't think of this. Rest work will be done by that guy/girl whom you told your every problem. JUST BE HONEST WITH THAT PERSON. 
Tip - never ever blame someone else because of your depressed condition. You will lose closed ones, at a very fast speed.

How Depression will kill you from inside..?

So, I am here to discuss the topic of depression in detail. 
Today I will be discussing how depression will affect you very much.!

Look, I am not here to make you feel more depressed, or sadder. I am just like one of your well-wishers. I even know that this might be one of the toughest parts of your life. But dear brother/sister, it's also like an illness (According to Google) and according to science, till now almost every illness is having a solution/treatment. So never ever worry that whether you will be able to come out of depression or not.! 

According to me, depression is thinking, which your brain has acquired. Not saying that it's nothing. This thinking can destroy your whole body if given it full access. Some of the following points might be able to help you. Give them a read - 

  • Overthinking more than the limit.
  • Regret because of not completing the task which was supposed to do so.
  • Sometimes, crying too because of that regret.
  • Always overthinking in a negative manner that I can’t do it or even worse.
  • Rarely talking with family members and friends.
  • Mood swinging, from sadness to immediately crying or from happiness to sadness.
  • Early awakening up, or excess sleepiness.
  • Crying very much because of a particular reason.
  • Suicidal thoughts are the worst. 
  • Weight fluctuations/Weakened immune system/Fatigue.
Hope so, you aren't going through any of them. Even if you are going through any of them, no problems dear, Just try to resolve it. Just try to find the reason because of which you are getting disturbed. 


Overthinking = too many thoughts =  Negative thoughts included = depression.


Before it starts hurting you, try ejecting it completely.
